Accountability Over Amnesia: Why Restore Britain is Demanding the Truth About Lockdown

Six years on from the start of the lockdown era, the political establishment seems desperate to move on. They want us to treat the most restrictive period in our peacetime history as a closed chapter—a regrettable blur best left forgotten.

But Rupert Lowe and the Restore Britain movement disagree. For millions of people, the damage inflicted during those years isn't just a memory; it’s an ongoing reality. It is a scar on our national character, our economy, and the health of our children.

Restore Britain has now set out its stall, and it is a message of radical accountability in a political climate defined by convenient silence. Here is why this movement is finally giving a voice to those the system ignored.

A Clean Slate for the Public

The laws of the lockdown era were, in many cases, draconian and nonsensical. For those who were criminalised for non-violent breaches, Restore Britain is proposing a line in the sand. They intend to quash all convictions for non-violent lockdown breaches, refund the fines levied, and ensure that the state issues a formal apology. Nobody should carry the weight of a criminal record for breaking rules that, in hindsight, were fundamentally flawed.

Investigating the "Hidden" Pandemic

While the official narrative focused exclusively on COVID, the, "collateral damage", of lockdown—delayed cancer diagnoses, untreated cardiac issues, and the catastrophic impact of fear messaging—has been largely swept under the rug.

Restore Britain intends to measure the true cost of these years in, "life years lost". By analysing the horrific suffering caused by the suspension of normal medical services and the developmental damage inflicted on millions of children, they aim to show the world the true cost of a policy that yielded zero meaningful benefit for the most vulnerable.

Restoration and Justice

The proposal isn't just about looking back; it’s about making things right:

Vaccine Mandates: Those who lost their livelihoods for refusing the COVID vaccine deserve compensation for financial and reputational damage.
The Damage Payment Scheme: The current Vaccine Damage Payment scheme is broken. Restore Britain plans to overhaul it to ensure it actually delivers for the families of those who suffered life-changing injury or loss.
Supporting Industry: Targeted tax breaks will be introduced to help businesses that are still reeling from the economic suicide pact that was the lockdown.

The Question of Accountability

Perhaps the most significant aspect of this platform is the promise of an independent commission to investigate the architects of these policies.

Restore Britain is clear: if officials were found to have manipulated evidence or pushed a pro-lockdown agenda knowing it would cause widespread damage, they should face the law—even if that means prison. If authorities allowed the injection of healthy children despite emerging evidence of risks, the party is calling for prosecutions.

A Stark Choice

The political landscape is shifting. As Rupert Lowe points out, voters are facing a choice. Do you back candidates who were complicit in the mandates, or do you stand with those who recognise that the coercion of the last few years was morally repugnant?

Referring to figures like Nadhim Zahawi, Lowe is asking voters to reflect on who they trust to represent their values. Can you support a system that allowed the state to bypass parental rights in pursuit of vaccination mandates?

The Path Forward

Accountability is not about revenge; it is about ensuring that the insanity of the last six years never happens again. We cannot, "pretend it never happened".

Restore Britain is positioning itself as the only political party willing to do the hard work of auditing the truth. They are offering a path for those who believe in bodily autonomy, who care about the future of our children, and who demand that the powerful be held to account for their actions.

It is time to stop the gaslighting. It is time for the truth.

Will you join the movement? Will you demand accountability?
