Man in 60s Dies Following Fatal M60 Collision Near Salford; Two Drivers Arrested

Salford, Greater Manchester – A man believed to be in his 60s has died following a multi-vehicle collision on the M60 near Salford on Sunday evening, leading to the arrest of two car drivers on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.


The fatal incident, which involved a motorcyclist and three cars, occurred at approximately 6:15 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025, on the clockwise carriageway between junctions 15 and 16.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased man has not yet been released.

Two of the three car drivers involved in the collision were subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They currently remain in police custody as officers continue to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

Specialist officers from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are leading the inquiry and have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses. They are particularly urging anyone who may have seen the collision, or captured any footage from the area, to come forward. Police are especially keen to obtain dashcam recordings from before, during, or immediately after the incident.
