Farage Hits Back at Starmer, Accuses Labour of "Desperate" and "Unfit" Leadership

London, UK – 1st October 2025 – Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, has launched a blistering counter-attack against Labour Party leader Keir Starmer, accusing him of being 'incapable' of addressing the nation's issues and using accusations of racism as a desperate tactic. Speaking after the conclusion of the Labour Party conference, Farage asserted that his party, and indeed his own name, had dominated the Labour gathering, highlighting what he perceives as the government's inability to counter Reform UK's arguments.

"The Labour Party conference is over... finds itself just 14 months in, in very deep and, in many ways, deserved trouble", Farage declared in a strongly worded statement. He described the Labour conference as 'extraordinary', noting that his own name had been an 'obsession' throughout. Farage drew a parallel with a cartoon in The Daily Telegraph, suggesting delegates were so tired of hearing about him they might as well attend a Reform UK conference.

The Reform UK leader accused both Prime Minister Starmer and his cabinet of 'constant attack' on him and his party's policies, which he claims have consistently led opinion polls for over a hundred weeks. "What I've learnt this week is that the government are incapable of beating us on our arguments", Farage stated.

He then directly addressed Labour's stance on key policy areas, stating that Reform UK, "wants illegal migrants deported", the benefit system to be for UK citizens 'only', and, "foreign criminals removed from our country ASAP". Farage highlighted Labour's response, stating, "Labour says these policies are racist and immoral. And by implication, Reform supporters, Reform voters, and Reform sympathisers are racist too".

Farage condemned this characterisation, calling it a, "very, very low blow", and warning that such language could, "incite and encourage the radical left", and, "directly threatens the safety of our elected officials and our campaigners". He expressed his shock at Starmer's, "behaviour", stating, "I used to think the Prime Minister was a decent man... I am completely shocked at his behaviour. I hope when he wakes up tomorrow morning, he feels ashamed of what he has done".

Labeling Starmer's approach as a, "desperate last throw of the dice", Farage claimed the Prime Minister is in, "deep trouble", and "can't even command the support of half of his own party". He went further, declaring, "I now believe that he is unfit to be the Prime Minister of our country".

Farage also criticised Starmer's perceived stance on patriotism and English identity, contrasting it with his own long-standing fight for 'British sovereignty' and a 'self-governing nation'. He accused Starmer of not believing in a Britain that, "most of you out there believe in", and of being happy for us to be governed from abroad.

The Reform UK leader painted a bleak picture of Britain under current governance, citing clogged roads, inaccessible GP appointments, and rampant crime. He contrasted this with Reform UK's 'positive vision' for the future, lamenting Labour's perceived lack of vision and the nation's ongoing economic, social, and cultural decline.

In a clear threat of electoral consequences, Farage announced his intention to, "teach Keir Starmer and the Labour Party a lesson next May", during local elections. He vowed that this lesson would be one that, "British political history will never forget".

Farage concluded by reiterating his heightened determination following the, "abuse that has been heaped upon our supporters and our voters".
