England Legend Stuart Pearce 'Heartbroken' After Son, 21, Dies in Tragic Tractor Crash

Witcombe, Gloucestershire – Harley Pearce, the 21-year-old son of England football icon Stuart Pearce, was tragically killed in a tractor crash last Thursday. The incident occurred in Witcombe, Gloucestershire, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency services were called to the A417 Old Birdlip Hill at approximately 2:30 PM following reports of a single-vehicle collision. It is believed that Harley lost control of the farm vehicle, with initial reports suggesting a possible tyre blow-out may have caused him to veer off the road.

His father, Stuart Pearce, 63, and mother, Liz, have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

In a moving tribute, his family spoke of their profound loss: “Our family is truly shocked and utterly heartbroken at the loss of our cherished son and devoted brother, Harley. A soul who left an unforgettable imprint on all who knew him”.

The statement continued: “He was a golden boy with an infectious smile, and this shocking tragedy will leave a huge hole in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. With a quiet, understated strength and deep kindness, we are so proud of the young man he had become, exhibiting a wonderful work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit in the farming industry. He will always be our shining star. Rest in Peace, our beautiful son and brother. You will never ever be forgotten”.

Harley, who lived near Marlborough, Wiltshire, was a respected young farmer who ran his own successful business, Harley Pearce Agricultural Service, working across the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire border. He was the youngest of two children Stuart had with his ex-wife, Liz, from their 20-year marriage. His older sister, Chelsea, is a successful equestrian who has represented Great Britain at three European Championships.

Gloucestershire Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash and have issued an appeal for information. They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Stuart "Psycho" Pearce, famed for his passionate and tough-tackling style, earned 78 caps for England and is a legend at Nottingham Forest, where he made over 400 appearances. He also played for and later managed Manchester City, and famously led the England U21s to the European Championship semi-finals and managed Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics.
