Tragedy as Four-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Struck by Bus Outside Kent Hospital


Margate, Kent
– A four-year-old boy has tragically died after being struck by a bus moments after leaving Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital (QEQM) in Margate, Kent, on Thursday afternoon.

Police confirmed the youngster was hit by a single-decker vehicle close to the A&E department's entrance at approximately 4 PM. The child had reportedly walked out of the hospital just moments before the collision.

Medics immediately rushed the critically injured boy back inside the hospital for emergency treatment. However, despite the best efforts of staff, he was pronounced dead a short time later. His next of kin have been informed.

Kent Police has launched a serious collision investigation into the incident and is appealing for witnesses, as well as anyone with relevant CCTV or dash cam footage, to come forward.

Breaking the news of the four-year-old's death this morning, Kent Police stated: "The bus, a white single decker vehicle, was travelling near the entrance to the A&E department", when the collision occurred.

It remained initially unclear whether the child had been a patient at the hospital or was visiting at the time of the incident.

Investigators from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone with information, including passengers who were on the bus at the time and have not yet spoken to officers, to contact them. CCTV or dash cam footage relevant to the investigation can also be uploaded via the force's website.
