The ambitious challenge, named, "Gears for Gaza", was organised by the UK-based charity Unity Aid to raise urgent funds for civilians affected by the ongoing crisis. The riders set off from Rochdale, traversing a demanding route through towns, countryside, and city streets before arriving in the capital, a journey that tested both their physical stamina and unwavering commitment to the cause.

The initiative was created to provide immediate relief as Gaza continues to suffer from what Unity Aid describes as a, "humanitarian emergency", with devastating impacts on access to food, medicine, and basic supplies.

Donations poured in as the team made their way south, with supporters tracking the journey online and offering encouragement along the route. The campaign’s fundraising success saw it surpass its initial target even before the cyclists crossed the finish line. Organisers have confirmed that the donation page will remain open in hopes of reaching an even greater total.

A spokesperson for Unity Aid praised the riders for their dedication and effort, calling them, "an inspiration to others".

All money raised will go directly towards providing essential aid, including food parcels, hot meals, and emergency relief to civilians caught in the conflict.

The Gears for Gaza ride is the latest example of grassroots efforts from communities across the UK, demonstrating powerful local solidarity to support international relief work through direct action.
