Murder Probe Launched in Cardiff After Woman Found Dead in Quiet Street; Man Arrested

Cardiff, Wales – A murder investigation has been launched in Cardiff after a woman in her 30s was found dead in a quiet residential street on the morning of August 21st. South Wales Police have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with her death.

Emergency services were first called to South Morgan Place in the Riverside area at 7:37 AM following reports of a seriously injured woman. Despite the efforts of paramedics who attended the scene, she was pronounced dead. Her next of kin have been informed.

Shortly after the discovery, a 37-year-old man, who police confirmed was known to the victim, was arrested on Seawall Road. He remains in police custody. Authorities have stated that they are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

A police cordon has been established in the area, with parts of the street taped off as officers conduct their initial investigations.

One local resident told WalesOnline she heard a scream at approximately 7:30 AM but had initially dismissed the noise as children playing before police arrived. Other residents in the usually quiet neighbourhood expressed shock, saying they had been unaware of the tragic event unfolding.

South Wales Police are now urgently appealing for witnesses and information. They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in or near South Morgan Place or Seawall Road between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM on August 21st.

Detectives have also urged individuals to check private CCTV or dashcam footage for any sightings of a grey Ford Fiesta in the vicinity. The appeal extends to anyone who was travelling between these areas, including along Wellington Street, Clare Road, Penarth Road, and East Tyndall Street, during the specified time.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact South Wales Police, quoting reference number 2500207506.
