Major Police Probe Launched After Teen Girl Raped on Dundee Street
Dundee – A major police investigation is underway after a 17-year-old girl was raped while walking on a street in Dundee last night.
The attack occurred between 9 PM and 11:20 PM in the Pentland Avenue area of the city, sparking concern in the local community.
In response, Police Scotland has significantly increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to residents. Officers are conducting extensive door-to-door enquiries and a wide-scale trawl of public and private CCTV footage.
The teenage girl is currently being supported by specialist officers following the traumatic incident.
Detectives are now urgently appealing for witnesses who may have been in the vicinity at the time of the attack. They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was on Tullideph Road, City Road, Pentland Avenue, Pentland Crescent, Cleghorn Street, or Pitfour Street during the time frame of the assault.
Police believe there were cars and pedestrians in the area who may hold vital information, even if it seems insignificant.
The detective inspector leading the enquiry has made a specific appeal for any residents or businesses with private CCTV, or drivers who were in the area with active dashcams, to come forward and share their footage with the investigation team.
